Raise
There are over 160,000 single parent families in Wales - that’s 1 in 4 families. Too often, single parents face loneliness, stigma and the daily challenges of doing it all on their own.
At Single Parents Wellbeing, we believe that no parent should feel alone. That’s why we’ve launched Raise - a campaign to celebrate the strength of single parent families, tackle stigma head on, and create more opportunities for connection across Wales. All profits from the van go directly back into supporting our work with single parent families.
The Connection Café on Wheels
Raise Van is a volunteer-powered mobile café run by Single Parents Wellbeing, a Welsh social enterprise supporting single parent families across South and South West Wales.
We focus on high-quality Welsh products, including Hard Lines Coffee Welsh-roasted drip filter coffee, which has received fantastic customer feedback. Drip coffee is a growing trend, offering great flavour while allowing us to serve customers quickly and keep queues down at busy events. We also offer a selection of flavoured syrups.
Our range includes premium Tidy Tea, including decaf, herbal and fruit blends, hot chocolate with all the trimmings, homemade iced tea, canned drinks, Welsh cakes and sweet treats.
But Raise is about much more than serving drinks. At the heart of the van is connection, conversation and community. We deliberately serve from the back of the van so our volunteers are alongside customers rather than behind a counter, creating a welcoming space where people can grab a cuppa, have a chat and find out more about what we do.
We travel to festivals, community events, family fun days, workplaces, and local hubs across Wales, helping single parent families access support, connection, and opportunities.
The Van was named by our community and is about raising awareness, raising funds and raising each other up. Reaching more single parent families across Wales.
